Dear Earl Grey Families, 

Thank you to parents, school council and staff for making the month of December and our Christmas and holiday celebrations so special. The energy and positivity within the school during this month was truly magical.  Many celebrations happen in the month of December including Winter Solstice beginning on December 21, Hanukkah which began on the 25, Christmas on the 25 and Kwanzaa, which begins on December 26.

To all are families who celebrate, we wish you the very best during this holiday season.  Enjoy this time with family and friends. It is during these celebrations that new memories are made which will be cherished for years to come.

Exciting Playground Fundraising Update!

What an incredible year 2024 has been for our community! Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Earl Grey students, parent council and staff, and our amazing volunteers, we’ve raised $280,000 toward our goal of $480,000 for the new playground.

We’re thrilled to share that we’ve received a $50,000 Building Communities Grant from The Parks Foundation & The Calgary Foundation, as well as a $5,000 Embrace the Outdoors Grant, both included in the $280,000 raised.

We are also awaiting news on our $125,000 CFEP grant application and will be applying for more funding opportunities in the new year to help close the gap.

With just $75,000 to go, we’re confident that we’ll reach our target soon! Please check out the website for updates (www.egplayground.ca) and continue to help spread the word.

As the holidays are upon us, consider a gift idea that gives back...an engraved brick at the new playground!  It’s a thoughtful and lasting way to celebrate.

The draw will be open until December 30 – The lucky ticket will be drawn on the 31 of December. Proceeds will be split between the Earl Grey School Council initiatives and the winner!
