Hello Earl Grey Families,

Pink Shirt Day

Pink Shirt Day is an annual event held on the last Wednesday of February to raise awareness about bullying and promote kindness. It started in Canada in 2007 when two students supported a classmate who was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. People now wear pink shirts worldwide to stand against bullying and encourage inclusivity. The day serves as a reminder to foster respect, empathy, and positive change in schools, workplaces, and communities. Wear a pink shirt on Wednesday, February 26 to help spread kindness and a sense of belonging!

Science Fair

Large Tri-Folds are now available for pickup at the school. Parents of Grade 5 and 6 students registered for the Fair can purchase online using your MyCBE account at a cost of $39.50 (no cash purchases at the school, please order online). We have divided this price in half for students working with a partner and this price has also been reflected in your MyCBE account. Students in grades 1 to 4 will use the smaller tri-fold that can be purchased at any dollar or craft store.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Dates & Times

  • February 27, 2025 – 4 to 7:45 pm
  • February 28, 2025 - 8 am to 11:45 am (there is no school for students on this day)

You can book your 15 minute meeting with your child's teacher by logging into your MyCBE accounts.  If you do not have your MyCBE account set up please reach out by email and I will send you instructions on how to create your account.

Due to our class size numbers (25 for example in each grade 1/2 class) and the number of 15 minute conference slots including additional time for identified special needs students and families needing interpreters, we are not able to accommodate parent requests for two conferences for the same student.  Designated home room teachers will be able and prepared to speak to a students’ progress for the one or two subjects taught by a partner teacher. In this way, all families can be accommodated in the allotted time we have.

Bookings close on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 3 pm.

If you are unable to meet with teachers during the scheduled Parent-Teacher Conferences, you will need to email the teacher and make alternate arrangements.

Once your conference is booked you will receive an email confirmation.

Thank you,
