Mar 10-14 Update | Green Fools Success! Afternoon pick-up, Playground, Events and Volunteering

Hello Earl Grey Families,

Green Fools Residency

Thank you to our School Council for your generous contribution in making this residency happen. Our Showcase today allowed both students and parents an opportunity to explore balance, coordination, and strength while participating in various circus activities including ball, club, and ring juggling, diabolo, flower sticks, and poi, and refined their dexterity with plate spinning and object balancing. Students and parents also challenge their balance and agility through stilt walking (underarm and block stilts), slackline, tight wire, rola bola, and rolling barrels. These activities helped build confidence, perseverance, and a sense of accomplishment in a fun and supportive environment. It was also a lot of fun!!

Afternoon Pick-up at the School

Due to the congestion at the front door of the school by students needing to access busses on Hillcrest Avenue, we ask that parents and caregivers to pick up non bus students at the designated back doors of the school. Teachers have reviewed these locations with students.

Earl Grey Playground Committee Update

EGP Design Reveal Memo - Feb 2025

Our playground design is complete and we are excited to share it! Please see the attached memo for more information and photos.

We have $43,000 left to raise from donations and will hear from the grants we have applied for in March and April.

If you or anyone you know was considering making a donation, now is the time! The brick campaign will wrap up at the end of March to allow time to engrave and plan for the bricks. If you would like to leave a message or add your name to the playground bricks please donate now. Thank you.

Message from School Council

The School Council is still looking for Treasurer and Fundraising Coordinator to be elected in May, attend our next meeting and/or contact earlgreyparentcouncil@gmail.com to learn more and ask questions. Our regular fundraisers (fun lunch, purdys, blaze, art cards, bake sale) may not occur next year without support, if you would like to see them continue we need your help running them.
