Hello Earl Grey Families,

With Gratitude

Thank you to all families who attended our Parent-Teacher Conferences. If you were not able to attend, please reach out to your child’s teacher to arrange a phone call to discuss your child’s progress.  Also, Thank you to our School Council for providing our pre conference dinner from the Green Bean Cafe.  It was delicious!

Our grade 5/6 students will be attending Outdoor School at Camp Chief Hector leaving the first day back from our break.  Organizing a multi day trip such as this is a huge undertaking. We are very grateful to our staff and parent volunteers for allowing this trip to happen.  It will be an experience our students will remember as a highlight of their time at Earl Grey School.

We also wish to thank our parents who volunteered and to those who donated goodies for our choir trip and lunch. Thank you to Miss. Dora for accompanying on the piano and to Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Branco for supervising during our choir practices. Finally, a huge shout out to Mrs. Sorenson for allowing our students this tremendous opportunity!

Playground Update

In the fall of 2023, Calgary Board of Education (CBE) advised that our playground was past its life expectancy and needed to be replaced.  A group of parent volunteers have come together and are starting to work on a plan for the new playground.

Earlier in March we reached out to the Earl Grey teachers and students for their input and now it is time to hear from you!

We would like to know what you would keep, change or improve with the new playground. The playground committee has prepared an online form that can be accessed via this link, Playground Survey and a paper notice with the survey that will be sent home after the break to gather your comments.

Thank you in advance for taking a moment to share your thoughts as we plan for a new, revitalized playground for the students to play and grow together.

Wishing you a fantastic spring break,

Your Earl Grey Playground Revitalization Committee
