Hello Earl Grey Families

Playground Palooza Fair – Tuesday October 29

Our fundraising fair will be held on Tuesday, October 29 from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. in the gym. All families are welcome to attend!

Tables will be set up for students to display  their items for sale.

Students and parents are welcome to bring some money (Cash Only) to purchase any of the goods for sale.

All money raised by the students will be collected by their classroom teacher and put into labeled envelopes with their student’s names on them.  Money collected at the Fair will be added to the Playground Palooza envelopes that were sent home last week.  Please return all envelopes with money raised by Friday, November 1 to your child’s teacher. Be sure to clearly label the envelopes.

If a student receives a donation of $25 or more and the donor would like a tax receipt, the student will need to provide the donor with a donation form (available from the teachers or front office) and have it completed with the cash or cheque donation.

If you have any questions please contact earlgreyplayground@gmail.com or speak with your child’s teacher.

We are in need of volunteers to support our fair. The signup genius is located here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508094FA4AD2DABF49-52593173-playground

Calling ALL Chocolate Lovers!

We’re teaming up with Purdys Chocolatier to fundraise for The Earl Grey Parents Association in hopes of raising $2000!

Stock up on your favourite Purdys Winter fundraising treats (did someone say Hedgehogs?) AND support a great cause at the same time—it’s the best of both worlds. All fundraising profits raised will directly support initiatives at the school, so every order makes a great difference to us.

Ordering is as easy as eating chocolate. Just click this link https://fundraising. purdys.com/1630401-119238,  and fill out your info. You’ll need an email address, click “Join Campaign”, enter campaign number - 40261, and order to your heart’s content!

The order deadline is November 24, so get shopping!

Costume Exchange

If you have any costume you would like to donate or give away, Please bring them to school on October 29 (same day as our Playground Palooza Fair) We will have them available for families who would like to wear one for Halloween.

Halloween Day, Thursday, October 31.

The Kindergarten Class is invited to wear their costumes the morning of Halloween Day. They will take part in their own costume parade in the morning at 10:00 am, visiting all of the classes in the school.  Families are welcome to attend.

Grades 1 through 6 are invited to bring their costumes to school on the Thursday and will be able to change into their costume right after lunch (11:50 a.m.). We ask that families be respectful regarding the costume choice: being appropriate for school, no weapons are allowed.

A Grade 1 to 6 costume parade will be at 12:30 pm. Weather permitting, we will exit the east gym doors and walk around the east side school field. Families are welcome to come watch the parade outside.  If the weather is not cooperating, we will have the parade inside the school and families can gather in the gym to watch the parade.

Remembrance Day Memories

Our Earl Grey Remembrance Day Service will be held on Thursday, November 7 at 10:15 a.m. We are inviting any Earl Grey student to share a picture and brief summary of ancestors who have served in the Armed Forces. We would ask you to submit both a picture and a paragraph to Ms. Cotton: kjcotton@cbe.ab.ca by Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Ms. Cotton will be selecting students to present their submission at the service.

Please include the name of the person, their relationship to the student, where and when the person served and any other significant information.
