Playground Update 🎉


Grand Opening Graphic Updated sept10

Please join us on Thursday, September 18 to celebrate the opening of the new playground and enjoy complimentary cake, freezies and drinks from the Hayloft Cafe YYC barn (food truck).

We will also have three food trucks with food for purchase: The Family Fry Guy, Zilford Fried Chicken, and Fantasy Donuts and Pretzels, plus activities and time to explore the new playground.

  • Festivities begin: 2:30 p.m.
  • Remarks & Ribbon Cutting: 3:00 p.m.
  • Wrap-up: 6:30 p.m.

Everyone is welcome—bring your friends, family, and neighbours to celebrate together!

Blaze Pizza Fundraiser 🍕

Thursday, September 25, 4:00–8:00 p.m.
Location: Mission (2032 4 St. SW)

Blaze Pizza will donate 20% of sales back to the Earl Grey Parent Association when you use code FunA.

Funds raised support student activities, literacy, art, math & science, well-being, family support, and more.

Other Updates

  • Bike Rack Repairs – The rack will be picked up for repairs on Monday. Please use the black compound rails until it returns later in the week. Please make sure bike locks are off the rack by the end of the weekend
  • School Patrols – Begin September 15 at the 8th St. & Dorchester Ave. crosswalk:
    • Morning: 7:50–8:00 a.m.
    • Afternoon: 2:30–2:40 p.m.

Google Classrooms 💻

Teachers are setting up Google Classrooms for all students. These will include:

  • Weekly summaries of classroom learning
  • Photos or examples when possible

Classrooms will be live by end of day, Monday, September 22.

Student Personal Mobile Devices 📱

A reminder that all personal devices (phones, iPads, smart watches, etc.) are “away for the day”—including while riding the bus. This policy follows provincial legislation.

  • Demographic Verification (2025–26) – Alberta Education requirement for funding.
  • Citizenship Information Update (2025–26) – appears if citizenship details change.
  • Annual Authorization (2025–26) – includes:
    • CBE Use of Personal Information
    • Consent for CBE Use of Student Information
    • Consent for News Media/Outside Groups

Student Attendance

  • Call 403-777-8570 (option 1) if your child will be absent.
  • If picking up early, sign out in the green binder at the office.
  • Late arrivals must check in at the office before going to class.
  • Bus students: notify the office if you plan to pick them up instead.
