Playground Update
Dear Parents and Supporters,
Thank you all for your incredible support throughout this school year!
Tonight, many members of the School Council and the Playground Committee will be gathering at Blaze Pizza on 4th Street SW to celebrate the last day of school. It's a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the hard work and dedication shown by both parents and kids alike.
Our community at EG is truly remarkable, and we are immensely grateful for the support we receive. With your help, EG continues to thrive as a fantastic school. Looking ahead, we are optimistic about celebrating once more next year, hopefully with the inauguration of a brand new playground!
As summer begins, we hope you all have a fantastic break. We eagerly anticipate another year of successful fundraising and exciting planning ahead.

Classroom Assignments
Student placements are decided collaboratively by teaching staff and administration. The teachers work together closely in creating lists. We look at academic abilities, learning styles, teaching style, gender mix, friendships, and positive peer to peer relationships. This is a very thoughtful task as teachers think of the best interest of each child as they create class lists. Classroom assignments will not be shared prior to our first day of class as we are continuing to finalize enrolment numbers due to new registrations over the summer. Please do not request a specific teacher, as all our teaching staff are excellent! If you do wish to email me a specific educational consideration it will be read. However, there is no commitment on the school to accommodate specific classroom requests.

This morning we met as a school to celebrate our staff who will be leaving us. Thank you to Mrs. Cracknell, Miss Bourne and Mr. Carroll for to stepping in while we have staff on maternity leave. Thank you to Lesley Billy, our Braille Assistant, who will be moving to a new school next year. We also had one last opportunity to celebrate Mrs. Sorensen’s retirement. It was a pleasure to end our year with Mrs. Sorensen playing the piano and listening to all of our students singing their favourite songs.
We wish all of you a fantastic summer! We look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday, August 29.
