Weekly Update Dec. 4-8 | Successful Book Fair, Volunteers Needed, Christmas Concerts, Bake Sale,

Hello Earl Grey Families,

Our Scholastic Book Fair was a big success! And it was all because of you.

We surpassed our goal of buying over 300 books, we sold over $5000 worth of product and we were able to add a lot of new books to our collection. As well, we gave away many new books and prizes to our students.

Thank you for supporting literacy and making reading FUN at Earl Grey School.

Stay tuned for future volunteer opportunities with the 2023 Christmas Musical and Christmas bake sale :). We will be seeking a lot of help with sorting and selling baked goods, costume making and organizing, stage props, stage set up and organization and stage assistance.

Christmas Concerts!

The dates for the Christmas Concerts are as follows:

  • Grades 3-6 Tuesday, December 19 – 9:30 am and 6:30 pm
  • Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2: Wednesday, December 20 – 9:30 and 6:30 pm

Rehearsals are well underway as we prepare for this year’s Christmas concerts. Students will do a morning performance, where the other half of the school will attend along with as many family members as possible (especially grandparents!)

We encourage anyone who is able to attend in the morning to do so as the evening performance tends to be standing room only!

For those who are new to our school, the students attend the regular school day, go home as usual at dismissal time, then return with their parents for the 6:30 performance. Please let Mrs. Sorensen (kgsorensen@cbe.ab.ca) know if your child will not be present for the concerts!

The following costumes are for the K-2 performance.

  • AM Kinders: Reindeer! They will need an all brown outfit, shirt and pants, or a reindeer onesie! The school will provide the antlers.
  • PM Kinders: PJ’s and a blanket.
  • Miss Goodine’s class: Christmas PJ’s or simply Christmas attire.
  • Miss Walker’s class: PJ’s, could be regular or Christmas!
  • Mr. Bridges’ and Mrs. Branco’s Boys: Black Pants!
  • Mr. Bridges’ and Mrs. Branco’s Girls: If possible, top and bottom all the same color. White long-sleeved shirt and white leggings or tights would be perfect.

Information for the Grade 3-6 concert will come out next week. Some of the students already know what they need, Mrs. Sorensen will confirm that soon!
