In honour of Black History Month, our staff will highlight the innovative, courageous, and inspiring voices, stories, and contributions of Black Canadians into the centre of our conversation and learning. Black History Month is a time to honour black Canadians and reflect on the history, achievements and contributions of black people in Canada.

Be Brave Grade 3 – 6  School Field Trip

We are excited to be bringing our grades 3 to 6 students to the Be Brave “anti-bullying” Hitmen game on Feb 28, 2024. Forms are out & fees uploaded in MyCBE. Completion of forms and payment completed in a timely manner will really help us.

Playground Committee Call for Volunteers and Information Session – February 13, 2024

We hope this message finds you well. We have an exciting opportunity to get involved in a crucial project for our beloved Earl Grey School. 

The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) has mandated the replacement of our current playground. To kick-start this initiative, we are hosting a brief but informative Zoom meeting on February 13th at 7 PM. This 30-minute session will provide essential details about the new playground project and volunteer opportunities.  We encourage all parents to attend, especially those who would consider volunteering on the committee.

The goal is to have the new playground installed by the end of summer 2025. To achieve this, we need your active participation. Your insights and support are invaluable in shaping the future of our school environment. 

Please join us on February 13 to learn more about the project timeline, objectives, and how you can contribute. We understand the demands on your time, so rest assured the meeting will be a concise 30-minute update.

Science Fair: March 11 and 12, 2024

If you have not yet picked up your grade 4 to 6 Large Tri-fold display boards, please do so by the end of next week!  Large boards can purchased from the school for $15.00. You can also provide your own board. However, these large boards are a standard size required for both the Earl Grey and CYSF. When laid flat on the floor the outside dimensions are 60 inches by 96 inches (152.4 cm by 243.8 cm).  Small boards for grades 1 to 3, can be purchased at many of the dollar or department stores and have no size requirements.
