🚦 Morning Traffic & Student Safety – Important Reminder
We are increasingly concerned about traffic safety in front of the school during morning drop-off. The volume and pattern of vehicles has become worrisome, and student safety is being compromised.
Please review and follow the traffic flow poster below. In particular, U-turns directly in front of the school must stop immediately. These maneuvers create serious risk for students, families, and staff crossing the roadway. We kindly ask all families to model safe driving practices and adhere to the designated traffic patterns to ensure a safe arrival for everyone.

🥫 Calgary Food Bank Donation Drive
Earl Grey is collecting non-perishable donations for the Calgary Food Bank until December 19, 2025.
Please ensure all items are unopened, non-perishable, and not expired.
Most Needed Items:
- Pasta, rice, cereal, oatmeal
- Peanut butter
- Canned or dried beans, chickpeas, lentils
- Pasta sauce
- Canned vegetables and fruit
- Canned soup
- Canned fish or meat
- Baby items: formula, baby food, diapers
- Hygiene items: shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, deodorant

Parents and legal guardians can book their 15-minute Parent-Teacher Conference starting November 15, 2025.
Bookings close November 26, 2025.
📍 Location: Earl Grey School – 845 Hillcrest Ave SW
đź—“ Dates & Times:
- Thursday, November 27 – 4:00 PM to 7:45 PM
- Friday, November 28 – 8:00 AM to 11:45 AM
(No school for all students on Friday, November 28)
Important: Please book only one 15-minute conference with your child’s classroom teacher.
How to Book:
- Log into your MyCBE account
- Click your child’s name
- Select the MyCBE icon (with arrow) on the left
- Choose Book and Manage Meeting
- Select your time slot
- You will receive an email confirmation
If you cannot attend during scheduled times, please contact your child’s teacher to arrange an alternate meeting.
⏰ Late Arrivals
If your child arrives after the 8:00 a.m. bell, they must report to the office before going to class.
If they do not check in, the system will record them absent and you will receive an automated call and email.
🍎 Lunch Supervision Fees
If you have not yet registered your child(ren) for lunch supervision, please do so as soon as possible.
If this is not completed by November 28, 2025, the school will register your child on your behalf.

- Call the attendance line for absences: 403-777-8570 (Option 1)
- Early pick-up: Please sign your child out in the green binder in the office. Office staff will call the classroom. Parents should not go directly to classrooms.
- Late arrivals must check in at the office
- If your child typically takes the bus but will be picked up instead, please notify the office
We are currently seeing an increase in late arrivals. Please ensure your child arrives on time for learning to begin promptly.
