Dear Earl Grey Families,


I hope you’re enjoying these last days of summer and finding time to rest, recharge, and enjoy your loved ones! As we prepare to launch into the 2026–27 school year, I want to share a few important details to help ensure your child’s first day on August 31 goes smoothly.


✉️ Teacher Introductions

By Friday, August 28 around 2:30 PM, you will receive an email from your child’s homeroom teacher. It will include a warm welcome and helpful/detailed information about the first day.


🏫 Class Placements

In June, our staff worked thoughtfully to create balanced and supportive classrooms based on many factors. As such, we are unable to accommodate changes to class placements.


📍 Where to Find Us on Day One

Staff will be outside on the east field (soccer field) at 7:45 AM to welcome students and families. The final morning bell rings at 8:00 AM, so please arrive a few minutes early to help your child connect with their teacher and find their class lineup. If your child is on a bus no worries, staff will be present to direct them. 


Kindergarten families: 

You will begin with a staggered entry.

Aug 31 students with last names starting A-H will attend

Sept 1 students with last names starting I-Z will attend

Please call the school should you need further clarification.


⏰ Bell Times

Grades 1–6

  • Mon–Thurs: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM
    • Soft start is at 7:50 this will begin Sept 1
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Lunch: 11:00 – 11:40 AM
  • Recess: 1:15 – 1:29 PM

Kindergarten

  • Mon–Thurs: 8:00 AM – 10:45 AM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Please be aware there are specific Friday's when there is no Kindergarten this will be posted on the school website.


Finally, if you could please take a moment before Aug 31 to discuss your child’s end-of-day plan with them so they feel confident and safe about how they are getting home. Please let their teacher know the plan that morning as well. 


🛝 School Council 

Sunday, August 30 10am-12pm parents will be meeting to clean up the playground, it's a fun way to say hi before the school year starts and clean up any garbage, all parents welcome


Also, we know things change in the summer so if you will not be returning to Earl Grey, please let the school know as soon as possible. 

We can’t wait to see all of you and officially kick off an exciting school year together. See you bright and early on Aug 31!
